Charles and Valentin Named in the UK's Top 100 Sommeliers 2026
During English Wine Week, two of our sommeliers - Charles Carron Brown, sommelier and restaurant manager for Aulis London and Valentin Mouillard, group head sommelier - were named among the UK's Top 100 Sommeliers 2026 by Sommelier Edit.
Charles Carron Brown, sommelier and restaurant manager, Aulis London
Charles was named in the top 25 sommeliers in this year's awards, recognising his leadership and contribution to the industry. Charles has transformed the wine list at Aulis London, first removing non-English sparkling wines in 2024 and now introducing a new all-English wine pairing. This change reflects his commitment to British wines and British ingredients.
Charles is also co-founder of Future Sommeliers, which launched at the awards ceremony on Monday. The initiative is works to inspire and support the next generation entering the industry, as Charles says, "The future of hospitality isn't in the cellar, it's in the people". Valentin Mouillard, group head sommelier
Valentin was named 12th in the UK's Top Sommeliers 2026. Since joining us in 2016, Val has helped shape our wine and drinks programme. While he works closely with passionate vignerons from around the world, he has also been a longstanding advocate for English wine and small, independent producers.
Today, Val oversees our wine programme across all of our restaurants worldwide. Despite the scale of the role, he still brings the same attention to detail, curiosity and desire to surprise that define every wine list we offer.
Congratulations to Charles and Val!
